Salfio for Slack

Your client brain, inside Slack.

Salfio remembers every conversation your team has with a client — email, calls, Slack, WhatsApp — and turns it into a memory layer your team and your AI workflows can query. In Slack, mention @Salfio to ask anything about a client, get scheduled recaps posted to your channels, and let client channels flow straight into each client's timeline.

Installing requires a Salfio account. The "Add to Slack" button lives inside Salfio under Settings → Workspaces — the install steps below walk you through it.

What Salfio does in Slack

Six ways the app shows up in your workspace. Nothing is posted unprompted, except the routines you create.

@mention

Ask about any client, in any channel it's in

Mention @Salfio with a question. It reacts with 🤔 within seconds and replies in a thread on your message: one to three sentences, grounded in your organization's data. In a channel like #cust-acme it answers about Acme; if the channel name does not map to a client, it asks which one you mean.

thread

Keep the conversation going

Once Salfio has replied, post follow-up questions in the same thread — no need to mention it again. It reads the whole thread, so every answer carries the context of what was already discussed.

DM

Message it directly

Open a direct message with the Salfio app and ask away, without an @-mention. Same answers, private to you — the right place for questions you would rather not put in a shared channel.

actions

Get things done by asking

"Add a note to Acme: contract renews in March." "Which Slack channels can Salfio see?" "Bind this channel to Acme." The assistant can create and update clients, labels, notes and channel assignments, attributed to you. Destructive changes are spelled out and confirmed first.

routines

Recaps delivered on a schedule

Save a prompt as a routine and Salfio runs it for you — hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever a new email or meeting lands — and posts the result to a channel you pick (Salfio joins it) or to you as a DM. Create one by asking @Salfio, with the /salfio routine command, or from the dashboard.

channels

Client channels become client memory

Bind a channel to a client and every message in it lands on that client's timeline, feeding summaries, insights and answers. Shared (Slack Connect) channels with your clients work the same way.

AI disclaimer

Salfio's answers, summaries and recaps in Slack are generated by AI. Read this before you rely on them.

AI-generated content. Salfio uses large language models to generate summaries, answers, and scheduled recaps in Slack. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date — verify important information before acting on it. Salfio reads only the channels it is a member of — the ones you select in Salfio or invite it to — and the direct messages sent to it.

In practice, an answer can miss a recent email, misread a date or a name, or state something your data does not support. Treat it as a well-briefed colleague's first draft, not as a record: check the client's timeline in Salfio before acting on anything important, and read a routine's output before forwarding it to a client.

In a conversation, Salfio changes your clients, notes, labels and channel assignments only when you ask, records the change as yours, and asks you to confirm destructive changes first; routines cannot make destructive changes at all. In the background it keeps derived information up to date — summaries, insights, and the contacts and job titles mentioned in your conversations — which you can review and correct in Salfio. Salfio does not use your data to train public or third-party AI models; how your data is handled is described under Your data below.

Install Salfio in your workspace

You need a Salfio account with the admin role in your organization, and permission to install apps in your Slack workspace. No Salfio account yet? Book a demo and we will set one up with you.

  1. Sign in to Salfio

Go to app.salfio.com and sign in. If your team already uses Salfio, ask an admin for an invite.

  2. Open Settings → Workspaces

In Salfio's left-hand navigation, open Settings and then Workspaces. This page lists the chat platforms connected for your whole organization.

  3. Click "Connect Slack workspace"

This is the "Add to Slack" step: Salfio redirects you to Slack's app-installation screen.

  4. Choose the workspace and allow the permissions

Pick the Slack workspace you want to connect, review the permissions (they are listed in full further down this page) and click Allow. Slack sends you back to Salfio.

  5. Confirm the workspace shows "Active"

Back in Salfio, the workspace is listed as Active. Right after installation Salfio reads the workspace member list to link Slack members to Salfio users by email address, and keeps that list up to date. That is all it does on its own: it joins no channel and posts nothing.

  6. How Salfio gets into channels

Salfio joins a public channel only when you select it in Salfio — to bind it to a client, or as a routine's delivery channel. For a private channel, or to @mention Salfio in any other channel, type /invite @Salfio there. To remove it, open the channel's settings and remove Salfio under Integrations.

  7. Bind channels to clients (optional)

To attribute a channel's messages to a client, connect Slack under Settings → Integrations, open that client in Salfio and add the channel under Assignment rules — or ask @Salfio to do it. When you save, Salfio joins the channel (a private one needs /invite @Salfio first) and imports up to six months of its history.

  8. Say hello

In any channel the bot is a member of, type @Salfio what's the latest with <client>? — you will see a 🤔 reaction, then an answer in a thread. Quickest first try: send the Salfio app a direct message, no invite needed. Either way, your Slack email must match your Salfio account.

Mention @Salfio in a channel it is a member of, with a question.Adds a 🤔 reaction within a couple of seconds, then replies in a thread on your message. If the answer takes longer, it posts "Still on it — give me a moment." first. Most replies arrive within ten to thirty seconds.
Reply in a thread Salfio has already answered in.Treats it as a follow-up and answers again in the same thread, using the full thread as context. No @-mention needed.
Send the Salfio app a direct message.Answers in the DM, privately. Same data, same rules.
Open the Home tab of the Salfio app in Slack.Shows how to use Salfio — mentions, direct messages, routines, which channels it reads — with the AI disclaimer and links to Salfio, this page and support.
Ask it to change something: a note, a label, a client, a channel assignment.Makes the change as you — the dashboard shows you as the author. Deleting a client or rewriting a channel's rules is confirmed with you first.
Run /salfio routine in any channel.Opens a form (description, prompt, schedule, delivery channel). Submitting it creates a scheduled routine. Salfio joins the public channel you pick; for a private channel, invite it first.
A routine's schedule comes up, or a new email or meeting matches its trigger.Runs the saved prompt on your organization's data and posts the output to the chosen channel, or DMs its creator. Routines cannot delete or rewrite anything.
Post in a channel that is bound to a client.Captures the message onto that client's timeline. Nothing is posted back to Slack.
Disconnect the workspace from Settings → Workspaces.Stops mentions, direct messages and routines in that workspace. The app stays installed in Slack until a Slack admin removes it. Messages already captured stay on your clients' timelines until you ask us to delete them (see Your data, below).
  • Only people with a Salfio account in the organization can use the bot. Salfio matches your Slack profile to your Salfio user by email address; if there is no match, the bot replies once to say so and points you to an admin.
  • Anything the bot posts in a channel is visible to every member of that channel. Use a DM for anything sensitive.
  • The member list is synced hourly. Salfio joins a channel only when you select it in Salfio or invite it with /invite @Salfio — never on its own. Mentions, DMs and routines are instant.
  • If Salfio does not answer direct messages, or does not join a channel you select, disconnect and reconnect Slack once to grant the missing permission.

Your data

Salfio stores the messages from the channels the app is a member of and the direct messages sent to it, together with channel names and the workspace member directory. This content is used for one purpose: building each client's timeline, summaries and answers for your organization. Channels the app is not a member of are never read.

Data is stored on Salfio's servers in the European Union. To generate answers, summaries and recaps, conversation content is sent to our AI providers, including providers in the United States, under contracts that prohibit any other use, and only to providers that keep no copy of it (zero data retention). Salfio does not use your data to train public or third-party AI models.

You stay in control: disconnect the workspace at any time from Settings → Workspaces, remove the app from a channel to stop reading it, or ask us to delete your organization's data.
